Better Sourcing Farm to Fork Responsibility Whether it’s cod or spinach, pizzas or peas, at Nomad Foods the provenance of our ingredients matters. This is why we partner with farmers, fisheries and other food producers to make sustainable and ethical practices the norm across our supply chains. Our Priorities Farm and Fisheries Our agronomists and procurement teams work to support and monitor responsible methods of production. Worker Rights Supplier due diligence and third-party audits are integral to how we respect human and labour rights. Animal Welfare Our sourcing policies emphasise the ethical and humane treatment of all animals in our supply chain. Farms and Fisheries Our supply chain partnerships proactively promote sustainable, responsible practices. For high-risk ingredients, such as soy and palm oil, we ensure traceable sustainability through accredited verification or by purchasing sustainable credits. Sustainable Agriculture Our Agriculture policy emphasises the importance of integrated farm management, deploying a combination of technologies and responsible pest, water and soil health management. All suppliers are assessed and audited against the Farm Sustainability Assessment (FSA) from the Sustainable Agriculture Initiative Platform (or an equivalent benchmarked scheme), which covers social and environmental criteria. Our target is for all suppliers to achieve FSA Silver or Gold. Learn more Responsible Fisheries Our Fish and Seafood policy and strategy is designed to build supply chain resilience and mitigate sustainability and supply chain risks. It emphasises sourcing from fisheries certified by the Marine Stewardship Council, increasing species diversity and the use of aquaculture in line with the Aquaculture Stewardship Council Farm Standard, and innovation (e.g. cell-cultured fish and seafood). Learn more Worker Rights At Nomad Foods, we respect the requirements outlined in the International Bill of Human Rights and the International Labour Organisation’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work. Using the Sedex platform for ethical and sustainable supply chains, our risk-based monitoring programme is designed to identify and address human rights risks and ensure compliance with our policies. Learn more Animal Welfare All suppliers of beef, lamb, pork, chicken, dairy and eggs must comply with our Animal Welfare policy and Animal Welfare standard. Our membership of the Global Coalition for Animal Welfare (GCAW) and collaboration with the wider industry has been fundamental to keeping abreast of the complex challenges and potential solutions across the value chain.
