The cradle-to-grave study, conducted by PRé Sustainability, compared 22 of Nomad Foods’ most popular products across Europe, including fish, vegetables and plant-based foods and meals showed that most had an equal or lower carbon footprint than similar products using other preservation methods. A key reason for these results is the reduction in frozen food waste during the retail and consumer stages, which can contribute significantly to the total carbon emissions of fresh and chilled alternatives.
